The second African Climate Summit has concluded in Ethiopia. The main outcome of the meeting was the adoption of the Addis Ababa Declaration on Accelerating Global Climate Solutions and Financing Sustainable Development in Africa, reports Fana Media Corporation (FMC) , a partner of TV BRICS.

It is noted that the document has consolidated the desire of African countries to expand their own climate initiatives and seek fair financing. The declaration also calls for international support for the Great Green Wall project, aimed at combating desertification, and the African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative.
Leaders stressed the key role of nature-based approaches, focusing on Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Initiative as a model for the continent.
At the same time, a report on climate projects of African states was presented and the African Pact on Climate Innovation was adopted – a new document for promoting sustainable solutions.
