Work is currently underway in Laos to open the first Russian school, whose graduates will be able to receive a double certificate – national and Russian. This was stated by the director of the Center for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Malyshev in an exclusive interview with TV BRICS.
According to him, a plot of land has already been allocated and the concept of the future institution is being developed. The school will prepare students not only for admission to universities, but also for professional self-realization, Malyshev believes.
“This concept, of course, will have to take into account the continuous professional track in preparing young people for the country’s subsequent needs for economic growth, in cooperation with Russia, so that children can already receive basic professional knowledge in school in order to integrate into the economic life of their country as quickly as possible ,” the ministry representative emphasized.
Malyshev added that the dual certificate will open up broad opportunities for Laotian schoolchildren to obtain higher education in Russia, provide better knowledge of the language and easier adaptation to the Russian educational environment.
He also said that currently 420 Laotian students are studying Russian in seven educational institutions.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced plans to open a Russian school in the capital of Laos during talks with his Laotian counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith in Moscow.
