Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly has approved a roadmap that will define the development of sustainable cities until 2030 and will become the foundation for urbanization in the country, according to the Daily News Egypt newspaper , a partner of TV BRICS.

Egypt’s Housing Minister El-Sherbini explained that the strategy aims to effectively use renewable and new energy sources, conserve water resources and develop sustainable urban transport.
Sherbini stressed that by 2030, Egypt will make environmentally friendly and resource-efficient urban development the most important driver of the country’s growth, which will save natural resources and improve the economic situation of citizens.
This year, the first package of incentive measures came into effect – benefits for developers, an educational program and a special electronic platform for green projects.
In the BRICS Declaration adopted following the summit in Rio de Janeiro, the leaders of the states particularly emphasized their commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. They called for cooperation and coordination of actions at the global level to jointly address environmental challenges.
