Output of finished clothes from Egypt increased by 24%

The Export Council for finished clothes of Egypt reported that for the period from January to May 2025, the industry’s deliveries amounted to approximately 1.34 billion US dollars (about 105.3 billion rubles) against 1.08 billion dollars (about 84.7 billion rubles) for the same period last year, which corresponds to an increase of 24 percent. This information transmits Sada el-Balad, partner of TV BRICS.

The report of the Council notes that exports only for May reached 321 million dollars (about 25.1 billion rubles) against $ 243 million (about 19 billion rubles) in May 2024, which is 32 percent more. This almost reached the highest monthly figure of 2025, as in February there was an increase of 33 percent.

Chairman of the Council Fadel Marzouk noted that such a significant growth reflects the positive dynamics of the industry and the success of the plan to increase supplies by 30-35 percent per year.

According to him, the improvement of global demand and the expansion of the export base have become the main factors in growth. The council is also actively working to open new markets and expand the circle of buyers.

Marzuk stressed that success became possible thanks to efforts to increase the competitiveness of Egyptian products, including training, the development of small and medium-sized businesses, the elimination of obstacles for exporters and active promotion abroad.

The council plans to increase exports to $12 billion (about 938.5 billion rubles) by 2031 by the expansion of markets in Africa and Asia, the use of free trade agreements, increase value added, modernization and the creation of two specialized production of clothing and fabrics.
