The 44-th Caribbean Festival was held in Santiago de Cuba. During the seven days there were cultural exchanges, creative speeches and discussions on identity and integration. TV BRICS is an information partner of the event.
At the closing ceremony, the researcher, director of the Caribbean House and one of the organizers of the festival Orlando Verhes Martíz, was awarded the José Martí Mausoleum Award for his contribution to the preservation of cultural identity and loyalty to the spirit of the festival.
The event ended with a bright procession, the culmination of which was the traditional burning of the stuffed animal, which is a symbol of the end of the holiday.

Later, the governor of the province of Santiago de Cuba, Manuel Falcon, together with the head of the Department of Culture, Rauliser Garcia Jerusalem Jérrezuelo and Orlando Verhes Martínez, met with the official delegation of Colombia.
The organizers announced that the next festival will be held in 2026 and will be dedicated to the indigenous peoples of Colombia and the African diaspora. It is expected to be no less important and interesting.
Also, Colombian Senator Gloria Flores said that by 2026 a number of initiatives are being prepared aimed at the development of cultural ties and providing a wide representation at the festival, known as the “Fire of Fire”.
