Belarus and Ethiopia are working on creating joint ventures for the assembly of agricultural machinery. As reported by the agency BelTA, TV BRICS Partner, Ethiopian Foreign Minister said Gedion Timato after a meeting with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, the equipment will be assembled in Ethiopia using Belarusian equipment and technologies.
«Subsequently, we hope that the equipment assembled on the territory of our country will be able to be sold to other countries of the African continent. I hope that negotiations in this area will be concluded in the very near future», – said the minister.

It is noted that Ethiopia is interested in modernizing its agricultural sector with the assistance of Belarus. In addition, the parties plan to strengthen economic and investment ties and develop scientific and educational interaction. Currently, students from Ethiopia are already studying at Belarusian universities.
Lukashenko emphasized that Ethiopia is an important partner for the republic in East Africa.
«Mr Minister, I repeat once again: we would very much like to step up our cooperation with your country», – he said.
According to him, the countries have the potential to deepen interaction, including thanks to the agreements reached at the BRICS summit in Kazan. The President assured that Belarus is ready to fulfill all its obligations, supply agricultural machinery, equipment and technologies, and train specialists.
