The city of Santiago de Cuba will host the 44-th Caribbean Festival (Festival del Caribe) – an event dedicated to the traditional culture of the Caribbean. It will be held from July 3 to July 9, 2025, the TV BRICS media network acts as an international information partner of the event.
The organizers are the Caribbean House (Casa del Caribe) and the Ministry of Culture of Cuba. The festival is also known as the “Feast of Fire” (Fiesta del Fuego), it annually brings together cultural figures, artists and representatives of popular movements from around the region.
“For the 44 years of continuous celebration of the Feast of Fire, our main goal remains the protection, preservation and promotion of the traditional culture of Cuba and the Caribbean,” said Orlando Verjes Martínez, Director of the Caribbean House.
According to him, this year the festival will be dedicated to the culture of the island of Curacao. In addition, the holiday is timed to the 510 anniversary of the founding of the city of Santiago de Cuba.
Guests of the event will be able to enjoy traditional dances and processions, as well as attend concerts, exhibitions and seminars, including:
colloquium “Cariba who unite us” and the exhibition of fine arts of Curacao (July 4);
procession of national and international creative delegations, known as the “Snake Parade” (July 5);
International gala concert dedicated to the culture of Curacao (July 6);
Festival of Haitian traditions Gran Gaga (8 July);
Parade of fire and closing ceremony of the festival (July 9).
The event has been held annually in Santiago de Cuba since 1981, and since 1997 it has been officially called the “Feast of Fire”, becoming an important platform for academic and cultural exchange reflecting the identity of the Caribbean region.
