On November 21-24, 2024, the Days of Cinema of the Republic of Chad and the Day of Culture of the Republic of Chad were held in Moscow, organized by the ANO “Center for Business and Cultural Relations with African Countries”, the Cultural Center “Russkiy Dom Tchad” and the Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino as part of the project “Art Bridge Russia – Chad Lalekou”.
The event was held at the Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino. Mr. Adam Bechir Mahamoud, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chad to the Russian Federation, opened the event.
As part of the Day of Cinema of the Republic of Chad, nine films by Chadian filmmakers were screened. After the screenings, the audience discussed the films they had watched.
On November 22, 2024, as part of the Cinema Days, a round table was held to discuss the current state of Russian and Chadian cinema, ways of its development, and issues of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of cinematography between our countries. Leading directors of the country took part in the discussion from the Chadian side.
On November 24, the Day of Culture of the Republic of Chad was held, during which Muscovites and guests of the capital got acquainted with the culture, traditions, literature, peoples and languages of Chad, watched a fashion show of African clothing and tried traditional dishes of Chad.
Inga Koryagina, PhD in History, Associate Professor of the Marketing Department of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, UNDP expert on international development and her graduate students took an active part in the Day of Culture of the Republic of Chad.
The holding of the Days of Cinema of the Republic of Chad allowed specialists and film lovers to get acquainted with Chadian cinema, which was completely unfamiliar to Russians. The foundation was laid for the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries in the field of cinematography. And next year we will continue to develop this cooperation.
On November 1, 2024, the international children’s drawing competition “Russia-Africa: the world through the eyes of children” will start, organized by ANO.
The competition is aimed at solving the following problems:
• promoting the development of the intellectual and creative potential of the child’s personality;
• popularization of children’s fine art;
• development and strengthening of friendship between children of Russia and African countries.
