Expert: BRICS technologies contribute to the transition to sustainable agriculture

Researcher at Shahid Behestchi University of Tehran Hossein Shirzad BRICS technologies can change global agriculture. This is reported by the news agency Mehr, partner of TV BRICS.

Rezard noted that BRICS invests in technologically advanced farming, biotechnology and data analysis systems. This helps save water, fertilizers and pesticides, reduces the harm of nature and reduces the loss of resources, he added.

As an example, the expert cited China, where satellites and drones are actively used, which allow you to monitor crops in real time and properly spend resources. In Brazil, thanks to new varieties of soy, resistant to pests, it was possible to significantly increase the yield. These developments are becoming a new global standard for efficient and environmentally friendly agriculture, the expert believes.

Reirzad stressed that as the role of BRICS in world trade strengthens, the agrarian technologies of the group’s countries are increasingly affecting global supply chains. Thus, Brazil’s success in agrobiotechnologies has strengthened the country’s position in the market of soybeans and beef, and China is strengthening its influence in the grain and vegetables market.

In addition, agrotechnologies of BRICS countries are also used in other developing countries. This, according to Shirzad, contributes to the transfer of knowledge. The expert believes that the growing influence of BRICS in this area indicates the transition to a more multipolar and innovative system of world agriculture.

The article notes that as the BRICS+ format develops, its role in the future of the global agricultural sector will only grow.
