Ghana Welcomes MFWA’s electoral commission’s decision.

MFWA (Media Foundation for West Africa – an international non-governmental organization based in Accra, Ghana, founded in 1997, an organization that campaigns against violation of freedom of the press in West Africa) welcomes the Ghana electoral commission’s decision to consult election Accreditation.

The MFWA has read with relief the statement from the Electoral Commission (EC), an independent body responsible for overseeing elections, of Ghana revoking its controversial restriction on media access to media ballots collation centers during the upcoming elections, which are said to be held on the 7th of December to elect the president and members of parliament, the elections use the two-round system and members of parliament are elected in single-member constituencies using first–past–the–post voting.
