Indonesia has created technology for earthquake-resistant buildings

Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climate and Geophysics Agency has unveiled a new earthquake-resistant construction project that includes advanced depreciation technologies. This is reported Vietnam News Agency (VNA), TV BRICS partner.

It is noted that the development, which can withstand earthquakes with a magnitude of up to 8.8, represents a significant step forward in creating a disaster-resistant infrastructure for the country.

The agency emphasized that the technology will allow multi-story buildings to remain stable during high-intensity earthquakes. They also noted that this is the first time such an innovation has been introduced in a Southeast Asian country and expressed confidence that it will become a new standard for construction in earthquake-prone areas.

Although the agency does not build public facilities itself, they hope the initiative will inspire others to apply it more widely. The new technology is already being used in the agency’s headquarters building in Jakarta, where the National Early Warning System is located.
