The achievements of world cinema will be popularized in the BRICS countries with the cooperation of India and TV BRICS

The international network TV BRICS will assist in promoting the achievements of world cinema in the BRICS+ countries in cooperation with the Indian organization Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation (ICAF). The joint activities agreement was signed by ICAF Secretary General, Honorary Director of the Chennai International Film Festival Emanadar Thangaraj and TV BRICS General Director Zhanna Tolstikova.

The partnership is also aimed at popularizing national achievements of cinema, creating and implementing new information projects.

«We, the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation, the organizers of the Chennai International Film Festival, are pleased to cooperate with TV BRICS in the promotion of cultural activities, including joint work within the framework of film festivals. This cooperation will provide an opportunity to better study and understand the culture and social life of our countries. We are proud to be partners of TV BRICS», – noted the Secretary General of ICAF Emanadar Thangaraj.

The non-profit organization Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation is dedicated to promoting global feature films to Indian audiences. Founded in 2003. Located in Chennai (Tamil Nadu). Unites filmmakers, critics, students of creative universities and film lovers. ICAF regularly organizes screenings of foreign films, retrospectives, master classes, discussion clubs and festivals, the largest of which is the Chennai International Film Festival. ICAF cooperates with embassies and cultural centers of various countries, including Russia, Brazil, South Africa, France, Germany, Japan, and Great Britain.

TV BRICS General Director Zhanna Tolstikova emphasized that the mission of the media network is to promote humanitarian cooperation between the participating states and BRICS partners, while the representation of national cultures and traditions largely occurs through cinema. Today TV BRICS supports more than 20 international film festivals: it acts as an information partner, organizes special screenings of films from the BRICS+ countries, and participates in competition, business and educational programs. In India, TV BRICS collaborates with the Innovative Film Festival.

«Today, the TV BRICS video content library contains original films and programs from foreign producers from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Argentina, Venezuela and other countries. Many of these unique works, supported by the media network, were presented for the first time outside the producing countries. A wide foreign audience was able to evaluate the work of documentarians through screenings on the resources of our media partners and at film festivals. Thus, TV BRICS opens the borders of states, showing the national identity, culture, traditions of peoples and their view of the world»
