The first Forum of Young Diplomats “Russia-Africa – Diplomacy of Victory”

the first Forum of Young Diplomats “Russia-Africa – Diplomacy of Victory” was held in Moscow at MGIMO within the framework of the IV Forum “Russia-Africa: What’s Next?”, which brought together more than 50 young representatives of foreign ministries from more than 20 countries13.

The event, organized by the Council of Young Diplomats of the Russian Foreign Ministry with the support of the Directorate of the World Festival of Youth and Students, was an important step in the development of international youth cooperation between Russia and African countries.

The Forum opened with a large-scale sports competition and an exhibition of African art. Key discussions were devoted to countering neo-colonialism, sports diplomacy, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and well-known Russian public figures took part in them.

During the gala dinner, the ceremony of joining the International Association of Young Diplomats, which already includes more than 200 diplomats from 40 countries, took place. On April 25, the participants also visited Patriot Park and the Main Temple of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, honouring the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory.
