The South African Foreign Minister noted the country’s foreign policy successes on the eve of the G20 summit

South Africa is strengthening its international influence and is actively preparing for the historic «G20» summit. This was stated by the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa Ronald Lamola at a briefing, reports Independent Online (IOL).

He emphasized that the summit will become a platform for promoting the interests of the Global South, exchanging experiences in the field of industrialization, food security and infrastructure development.

According to him, South Africa also continues to strengthen regional integration. In particular, the country has taken up the post of Vice-Chair «troika» of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and is actively promoting economic and trade cooperation in the region. The country is also participating in discussions on infrastructure, industrialization, digital technology and skills development on the continent, the South African foreign policy chief added.

The G20 summit will take place in Johannesburg on November 21–22, 2025. This is the first «G20» summit to be held in an African country.
